Dear Westminster Families,
In an abundance of caution, and given the recently-declared National Emergency, we have decided that it would be best for us to close for the time being. We are aware that this may put some of you in a difficult position. If you don’t have any other means of childcare available to you, Miss Jenny and Mr. Crow (and possibly some of our other teachers) have offered to provide childcare at the school to anyone who needs it.
If you need childcare, please reach out to us, and we will work together to make a schedule! If we do not hear from you, we will assume that you are keeping your child at home. Needless to say, if you are planning to bring your child in for childcare, please do not bring them in if they are coughing, have a fever, or are having any difficulty breathing.
Please remember that your children will follow your lead with regard to your attitude about this virus. If you are stuck at home, make the time to read a book with your child, play a game, or do an art project (and maybe even let them watch a little television). Try to be kind to your neighbors, to the people in the grocery store, and to anyone else you may encounter. Just eye contact and a smile can make a big difference (no touching required!). Take a moment to call friends and neighbors who live alone so they do not feel so isolated.
We will be in touch with any updates on reopening as soon as we have them. We know this is all scary and surreal, but if you just practice safe health protocols and think logically we will all be ok. We need to be cautious, but we do not need to panic! We are here for you if you need us.
